    God I hated this story but, In the short story, "Harrison Bergeron", the American Government controls its citizens using cruel and sadistic methods like mental and physical handicaps, severe death penalties for disobeying the law, and using propaganda to make its citizens blindly follow their government to ensure everyone is 'equal'.
