    In my opinion, the correct answer is C. " (48). We would first close the quotation marks, having ended the quotation itself, and then just enter the number of the page in brackets (parentheses). The number of the page is not a part of the quotation, and that is why we are going to leave it out of the quotation marks. On the other hand, there is no reason to mention the author's name within the brackets because we had already said it ("According to Gregory Samsa ... "). So, the reader knows that all they have to do is to look out for a book by Samsa in the Works Cited section, and they can find this quotation on page 48. (This is according to the MLA style.)
