The main difference between the greasers and the Socs is that they are from different social classes.

The main difference between the hood and the hood is that they are from different social classes. In the Outsiders, we learn that hood are higher social classes and Greasers are from the lower classes. The Greasers are different from the hood in other way than being poorer though.
