Christine Stansell talks about how women were trapped in a cult of domesticity, economy dependence by a men's world oppression. Men were using women as a stepping stone to keep their system where they got all the benefits so women could stay at home. The search for equality, better work conditions and anti discrimination laws lead to the beginning of the movement.
