Voltaire tells the story of a giant named Micromegas, that comes from the far planet. While Micromegas is traveling with his friend he ends up on Earth.

As he is a giant he can't realize that on Earth there are tiny people living. He thinks that people, so small and invisible can't be intelligent, but he gets surprised by people's importance.

    Explanation:

The main story is that the size is very relative and that one shouldn't be evaluated regarding his size. There is no place for arrogance, as it does not allow a person to see further than just the superficial.

Even though we think that we are big and great, there is always someone greater, who can teach us a lesson.

Answer: I think it is a representation of the concept that you can not cross the knowledge of one group and have it be relevant to another group of people. The knowledge that the aliens could not solve nor give any insight to the humans, just as the reverse could be said in relevancy of humans to the aliens. It is almost like trying to have a square give information of how to solve a problem for a circle; It would be impossible for someone not of your group to tell you something about yourself that you do not know already.

I also think the size plays a factor in what humans could not handle, along with the human information that would be beneath the alien. The alien being so large it could represent the knowledge that could be too much for humans to handle, along with concepts of space and otherworldly knowledge that humans could not possibly grasp yet. And to the alien with the human looking so small could represent that their knowledge they had he already had or knew a lot about, therefore they could not provide much to him.
