    The answer would be empty because, the word empty itself sounds lonely. No one wants to find anything empty. Field would definitely not be a lonely sense of a word because it doesn't tell you anything it's just a field. Looked ... what is he looking at? How would we know if the " looking" was lonely, exactly makes no sense.
