A noiseless patient spider, I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated Whitman, from "A noiseless patient spider" How would the poem change if "noiseless patient" was replaced with "quiet shy"? A. Readers would expect the spider to be successful. B. The spider would lose its sense of confidence. C. The spider would seem less sad. D. Readers would like the spider more.

    I would say A, because if you already have noiseless you probably don't want quiet because it would be like repeating.
