Why does each successive edition of the Newspeak Dictionary have fewer words than the one before it? a. By minimizing language the Party believes it can prevent/diminish rebellious thinking too. c. By reducing the number of words people use the Party feels it can appear more powerful. b. By deleting vague, meaningless words the Party can save on publishing/distribution costs. d. By controlling the region's vocabulary the Party can purify the language of foreign words.
