    I believe the answer is A. he worries it will regenerate humanity

    Hamm and Clov in the Endgame see the young child as a 'potential procreator' that would had the ability to rebuild humanity.

    At first, Clov suggested to kill the boy but Hamm decided not to because he believe the boy will die on his own.
