The Sonoran Desert is not as dry as the Saharan Desert.

In fact, the Sonoran Desert receives 3 to 15 inches of rain per year. Most of it falls during July-September (the monsoon season). On the other hand, the Sahara's annual rainfall is very low. Although the northern and southern fringes can get slightly higher precipitation, the vast core of the desert receives less than 0.04 inches of rain. In fact, most of the Sahara receives less than 0.8 inches. The Sahara has the driest and most evaporative air in the world.
