The story of Pandora involves a woman who is told not to open a box because it contains all the evils of the world, but she is so overcome with the curiosity of what's inside the box that she ends up opening it anyways and releases all that is negative into the world. This parallels the story of Adam and Eve because Adam and Eve were told not to eat the forbidden fruit, yet Eve ends up eating it anyways due to the devil tricking her into thinking it's safe and as soon as she eats the fruit, evil is released into the world just like in the story of Pandora's box.
