Read the myth of Hero and Leander and answer the question that follows. Leander was a youth of Abydos, a town of the Asian side of the strait [narrow ocean channel] which separates Asia and Europe. On the opposite shore, in the town of Sestos, lived the maiden Hero, a priestess of Venus. Leander loved her, and used to swim the strait nightly to enjoy the company of his mistress, guided by a torch which she reared upon the tower for the purpose. But one night a tempest arose and the sea was rough; his strength failed, and he was drowned. The waves bore his body to the European shore, where Hero became aware of his death, and in her despair cast herself down from the tower into the sea and perished. Source: Bulfinch, Thomas. Answer: The right answer is the B) The Hero.

Explanation: Just to elaborate a little on the answer, it can be added that the character of the priestess Hero fits the archetype of the Hero because she is selfless and has the courage, and arguably the nobility, to put an end to her life when Leandro perishes in the sea - due, in part, to the fact that the storm that night extinguished the light of the lamp that Hero used to guide him, and he wasn't able to find his way.
