The tense of a verb is determined by when the action took place. The three tenses are: pass, present, and future tense

Verb tense is a way of expressing when a action was being done.

    Example: past, present, future.

wrote, written, = past, write, writing = present, will write, = future.

there are also times where an extra tense will be added onto a word to indicate the time it existed.

Example: kicked, dreaded, loved, these are all past tense verbs.
