Sandra Cisneros authored the literature Woman Hollering Creek where Cleofilas is the main character a Latino/Hispanic girl.

The very first section of the story told as flashbacks paints how that the father of the main character desired a happy home for his daughter to settle.

The contrasts Cisneros establishes in this section, compared how she was happy while living with her father and how she isn't happy living with the hot tempered husband.

Cleofilas father wants her daughter to be happy.

    Explanation:

This is a short story in which Cleofilas' Father want his only daughter to marry. He wants her to be happy. However she is afraid of starting (what she thinks) will makes her be a happy and successful person. Her father is conscious about his daughter's husband. He reminds Cleofilas that he is her father and that he will never throw her away. This is how a father shows his love for his daughter. He's letting her know that she will always be able to come back home.
