Which sentence contains a misplaced modifier?

    The correct answer is definitely B. A misplaced modifier means that it is placed in a wrong place, something doesn't add up. And since A, C, and D sound completely correct, we can safely assume that the incorrect sentence here is B. Why? Well, because "with a hop and a skip" obviously refer to the little girl, but it is placed at the beginning of the sentence, so one might think it refers to the door.
