1. The correct answer here would be: They came within sight of the monster’s den. This an extremely risky thing to do. Gilgamesh despite the risks and as we later see the horror and the danger that the monster depicts he decides to risk it and approach so close to the monster's den.

2. The correct answer here would be: Humbaba is so terrifying that Gilgamesh is momentarily paralyzed with fear. As we saw Gilgamesh and Enkidu approached the monster's den and they were not prepared for what would welcome them there. The monster is terrifying and for a second even the mighty Gilgamesh is paralized.
