Scholastic scope scene 1 reveals that Marco and his mom are moving to Florida why?

The story is about a 13-year-old boy named Marco. He lives with his mother Teresa in Detroit. Teresa decides to move to Florida with her son. On hearing the news, Marco feels very sad because he is going to miss his friends at school and the entire hockey team players. Making new friends is going to be a challenge for him, but he has no other choice but to adapt to the new life that awaits him in Florida.

The reason for their moving to Florida is that Marco just lost his grandfather to the cold hands of death leaving behind his old grandmother Lita all alone in the house. Teresa decides that she and her son need to be there for Lita so that she doesn't feel all alone because she really needs someone to take care of her and assure her that everything is going to be fine.
