Which inference can be best made from this text in the passage from The Book Thief? "I deliberately seek out the colors to keep my mind off them, but now and then, I witness the ones who are left behind, crumbling among the jigsaw puzzle of realization, despair, and surprise. They have punctured hearts. They have beaten lungs."

    Explanation:

    The narrator speaks about how difficult is to keep on living watching all the survivors around her. Because she's seen death, but what strikes her completely is the living, so she says her "one saving grace is distraction", so she focuses on colors, and other details so as not to think about the destruction that suffocates her.
