They came to the United States for better economic opportunities.

    Explanation:

The term American dream is part of the culture of the United States, representing success in all areas of life. It is the perfect standard of living, self-realization, part of the "new world" symbolism, where anyone from different backgrounds and segments can achieve the desired status.

Regarding the Chinese immigrants who went to America in pursuit of the American dream, we can see that these immigrants left their homeland in search of what they could not achieve which was the best economic opportunity. Chinese immigrants left China because they were living in a poor and precarious economic situation, their only hope being to pursue the American dream, find better economic opportunities in the country and improve their quality of life and family.
