    I believe the correct answer is A. he has no way to get it to the water.

    He built an enormous canoe in order to be able to store his food while traveling, but he didn't take into account how he is going to actually place the canoe into water. It was too big for him to move, and after trying to move it to water for days, he gave up. At this moment, he has been on the island for four years.
