Which of these lines contains a metaphor?

A. You are like a sun to me.

B. She offered him a hundred-watt smile.

C. Now is your final hour.

D. Like unto death was her countenance.

    The correct answer is B, because the smile isn't really made out of a hundred watts, but it is so bright so it is described that way. Metaphor is a form of comparison, but words such as 'like' and 'as' aren't used in it.
