    After Gregor turns into a giant insect in Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, he is unable to communicate with his family. Why is that the case?

    The door of Gregor's bedroom is routinely locked.

    The family does not want Gregor to go out of him bedroom. They assumed that since he became an insect, he will not be able to understand what they are saying.
