    Answer and explanation:

"Everything that Rises Must Converge" is a short story written by Flannery O'Connor. The plot revolves around Julian's turbulent relationship with his mother. Even though Julian is not the narrator, the description we get of her is his own: a child-like widow who thinks of herself and her race as superior, who does not understand she no longer belongs to the upper class. Throughout the story, Julian wishes his mother would learn her lesson. He despises her beliefs and behavior and, very much like herself - which he would never admit -, sees himself as superior when compared to her.

At the end of the story, the mother ends up "learning her lesson" is a very cruel way. After acting condescendingly toward a black boy, she is yelled at and even hit by the boy's mother. The shock is too much, and she ends up having a stroke. Not knowing this at first, Julian takes this opportunity to criticize and let his anger out at her, saying she got what she deserved. He can only understand the mistake he's making when he realizes she is dying. That's when he finally sees his mother as a human being, who deserves respect and patience, no matter how different they are - or he believes they are. The story ends with the narrator letting readers know Julian will live a life full of regret for having treated his mother the way he did.

After the interaction Julian has with his mother at the end of "Everything that Rises Must Converge" by Flannery O' Conner, Julian finally sees his mother as a suffering fellow human and suffers along with her.

Julian's mother is an old south person who is trying to come to terms with the abolition of slavery and racial integration. She hopelessly tries to cling to her respected family name and social standing. It is only when Julien sees his mother dying on the pavement that he realizes that we should not support social inequalities.
