    Circe's Cup

When he is listening to the stories that all contradict each other and cannot be explained, the Duke says " I think you all have drunk of Circe's cup." This is in reference to Greek Mythology: Circe was said to have magical potions that people would drink from her goblet and it would cause crazy visions or stories.
