The desires of Annie are combined with nostalgia, which gives her conscious in the entire story. Her parent's smile with a lot of sadness in their faces while Anne is leaving and they all wish her best adventure. According to her parents mood she believes that her parents have agreed that it is her time to move. Even though Anne feels, friendly while at the service, she still feels disgusted in her earth for leaving behind her family but she stills shuns the notion of marriage.
