The product of two integers is 72. If one integer is 18, what is the other integer? Write and solve an equation

    72=18*x 72/18=x X=4 You work backwards with the information you have. You know 72 is the product and 18 is one of the integers. So you start with 72 being equaled to 18 times x. X being a variable to find the other integer. To find the answer you cancel the 18 by doing the opposite of multiplication. Which is dividing. That cancel the eighteen on one side and you need to bring it over to the 72 and divide the 18 there too. Which would leave you with an answer of 4. Any more questions just ask.
