In the book, Hamadi by Naomi Shihab Nye, is the story conflict an internal or external one?

Well I have not read that, but think about the what the problem in the story was. Then remember that internal means the problem is hard to find or to know what it is. External problem would be very visible, like maybe even a character in the story said what the problem was, but external would be very easy to know what the problem is.
