    When you read a passage like this, the best way to think it through is to consider key words and what is happening in the passage. In this passage, the words are meant as comfort. The speaker is wishing for the sky to cover the man and for the girl to hold his hands, both of which are pleas for comfort and peace. Thus, I would say the answer here is that everyone deserves comfort and love. No matter what the man has done in life, in his death, he should be at peace.
