    ''Marigolds'' by ''Eugenia Collier'' is story on how to find happiness in amidst of Great Depression in U. S. It is story of a black family who face a lot of problems during depression in U. S. It explains the struggles of Lizabeth and her family as her father has no work.

    Marigolds symbolize the happiness in the sad time. Lizabeth is innocent as she grows up but sees the rough times because of the poverty she faces. It is a story on how we should try to understand other people's pain.
