CCD or Colony Collapse Disorder has affected the Indiana bee colonies, especially after the years of 2014 to 2015. After statistics have shown that in those years the collapse of beehives augmented in a very significant way, beekeepers have monitored the results since then and addressed threats such as pests, lack of nutritional resources and exposure to pesticides, as well as reduction in natural habitats.

State agencies such as the USDA and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, as well as Pennsylvania State University or Indiana University or Bee Corp., have also investigated the problem for the past ten years or so. Through research and close watch of colonies, and the study of hive queens, they are closely monitoring the viability of contrasting the worrying tendency of CCD that has affected the state of Indiana.
