    Explanation:

    Jane Eyre is illtreated by her aunt and her daughters. She notices she does not belong to this family. She has been forced by circumstances to be with them. Brontë has written: " If they did not love me, ... a heterogeneous thing, opposed to them in temperament, in capacity, in propensities; a useless thing, incapable of serving their interest, or adding to their pleasure; ... ". This quotation shows how different Jane feels she is from Mrs. Read and her family. These words reflect Jane's inner emotions.
