For what value of x does 34 * = 27*-3?

    Explanation:

    Do the right side first.

    27*-3 = - 81

    So the left side is 34*x = - 81

    Now divide by 34. The steps are to combine the like terms when they exist as they did in this question. 27 * - 3 both are integers and therefore both are alike.

    34x/34 = - 81/34

    x = - 2.38
