What is the meaning of the idiom, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you"?

    It means do not insult, offend or be rude to someone who is giving you a gift or something of worth. ie. that person is giving you "food" and that very well may be retracted, should you "bite" them

    Basically, before you start acting a fool towards your parents, or guardian, know that they are the ones who provide for you
