A school district needs 3 teachers for 70 children. They expect to have 14700 children in the district next year. At this time, they have 612 teachers. How many more teachers are needed?

    Since 3 teachers are needed for 70 children and there are 14700 children, multiply 14700 by 3. The answer (44100) can then be divided by 70 which will get you 630. They have 612 teachers so subtract 612 from 630. The difference is 18 so they need 18 teachers.
