Okay so I have this question I wrote:

What position was White in in the Houston Chapter?

She was president so yeah, but what do I do with the 2 'in' right beside each other?

Do I change the whole sentence or add a comma? And my teacher is a major grammar bully.

Yes, there should be a comma between the two in"s, or you could rephrase the question. What position did White hold, in the Houston Chapter?
