The Power of Naming: Winston lives at "Victory Mansions," drinks "Victory Gin," and smokes "Victory Cigarettes." When he can find them, he probably uses "Victory" razor blades too. Why is everything called "Victory"? Does it make people feel more positive about the future? What are some examples of this kind of naming in our own society?

    1. Everything is called victory because this word put positive feelings in people's mind. The use of certain positive words can change people's attitude and behavior.

    2. In our society, things like oil production are said to be beneficial for job creation when in actuality it destroys our environment. In the same way are car industry which produces jobs and confort but also pollution.
