There are a few interesting ways how the Norman invasion affected English culture.

Most notable was perhaps that instead of the speaking english, the new official language was french and latin. While english surely was still spoken on occasions, it was looked down upon and it was not desired for people to speak english.

The Norman invasion also changed the drinking habbits surprisingly. While earlier drinking alcohol infused with mead, the Normans changed this habbit, and people started drinkinig wine more, as wine tasting and drinking became more common.
