Tha main conflict in this story is about tradition. The conflict erupts between Nnaemeka, a young Nigerian man, and his father, Okeke. Nnaemeka wants to marry a girl who is not part of his ethnic group, her name is Nene. Okeke disaproves the marriage and shun his son. Nnaemeka leaves Lagos and hopes that one day his father will accept his wife Nene. Unfortunately, Okeke remains obstinate and refuses to get in touch with his son and his son's wife, because they have broken tradition.

The correct answer is Nnaemeka's father wants him to marry a neighbor, but Nnaemeka marries Nene.

Explanation: In "Marriage Is A Private Affair" by Chinua Achebe, the protagonist, Nnaemeka, is arranged to marry a woman from his tribe. Nnaemeka, on the other hand, has fallen in love with Nene, much to his father's disapproval.
