    D. Brutus and Cassius are defeated at phillippi

Brutus and Cassius do not want Caesar to be one all-powerful ruler of Rome, since they are afraid he will become a tyrant. After they kill him they are faced with Antony who forms the Triumvirate with Octavius Caesar and Lepidus. When Antony and his side defeat Brutus and Cassius at Phillippi, it secures the rule of the Triumvirate over Rome.
