2. Midway through 'I Have a Dream," Martin Luther King, Jr. tells his audience "let us not wallow in the

valley of Despair." With that remark, King recognizes that a "valley of despair" exists and pleads with his

listeners not to "wallow" in it. In your own words, explain King's message in this sentence.

Wallow means to stay comfortably in an unpleasant condition without an effort of getting out because of the overwhelming nature of the circumstance.

However the message is clear it's that of self encouragement to look within putting effort to rise above stark - face odds.

Dr. King's message in my opinion, was basically just telling us to have hope; "wallowing in despair" means to lay or bask in loss or absence of hope, but Dr. King tells us not to do that.
