Daisy is a victim of her circumstances because she lets them control her. Especially in her time period, women were expected to be docile and submissive, attributes that she accepts when she is in a hard situation. She is too afraid to make decisions and often chooses the safest or less risky choice, even if it is not the right choice. When she is under pressure, she resorts to hiding inside the stereotypes given to her, instead of facing her fears and acknowledging her own strength. She has let the world around her control her and belittle her into a woman who cannot be her own person.
