Are there any rules on the positioning adverbs should take in a sentence?

    The positioning of an the adverb should be based on what you want the stress of your sentence to be on. For example: Ever wish you could share information broadly? - here, the most important word is 'broadly', which is an adverb, and the stress is on that word.

    However, the general rule is that the adverb should be placed before a verb, as in: I quite enjoy cooking - where 'quite' is an adverb in front of a verb.
