Which type of conflict does this passage contain? Jay stared glumly at the poster, which announced auditions for the school play. He would have loved to try out for it. In fact, he would love to do anything apart from studying. But he knew that his father wouldn't allow it. His father probably wouldn't even let him take time away from his studies to watch the play. According to Jay's father, extracurricular activities only served to distract young people from achieving the highest grades.
