The correct answer is A person works through her doubts to achieve a worthwhile goal.

    Explanation:

In both "A Cub Pilot" by Mark Twain and the excerpt from Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza, the authors are forced to leave their current lives behind, face new personal challenges and make decisions that will be necessary to define who they will be in the future.

In the case of "A Cub Pilot", the protagonist makes the decision to leave everything behind to fulfill the dream he had as a child of working in a boat. But when he arrives, he realizes that the work environment is not so pleasant, and he has to endure Brown's abuse for fear of losing his job. Finally, he makes the decision to hit him and realizes that it was worth it, even more when the captain congratulates him for having done it.

The same goes for the excerpt from Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza, where Ernesto and his family are forced to move to different cities in Mexico because of tensions with the government.

He didn't go to school, and at the age of 7 he learns that being a man is working day and night without a payment.

After his mother remarries, they move again. Ernesto makes new friends and starts going to school, where he was doing very well.

As in the previous case, Ernesto begins to work in a labor camp, with very bad conditions. And when he returns home, going to school he begins to think about his future.

His vision was different from the thoughts he had about school when he was younger.
