This is purely my opinion.

There are two ways that translation can be done. One is word for word. Two is context.

When you translate using word for word you tend to miss out the whole meaning of the text. There are instances that synonyms of the word is used to make it more comprehensible.

When you translate it based on the context it is written, you may miss out on important words that were used to put emphasis on the thought being relayed.

When translating old text into current-day wording, the significance of the words may diminish because as time goes by a lot of words are created to mean the same thing. Unlike in the old text a single word is only limited to a single meaning.
