Mr. Bennet is the head of the Longbourn House and the father to five daughters. He has a sarcastic, cynial sense of humorthat he sometimes used to irritate his wife. He loves all of his daughters (he favors Lizzie on the down-low) but he prefers to stay out of the whole marriage nonesense. He often seems to be detached, probably due to his lack of interest in the sitation at hand. He sometimes lacks propriety when it comes to his duaghters' futures. Also, due his lack of interest and general detachment, he tends to make poor choiced regarding his daughters, but he has their best interest in mind and wants them to be happy.

He is the patriarch of the Bennet household-the husband of Mrs. Bennet and the father of Jane, Elizabeth, Lydia, Kitty, and Mary. He is a man driven to exasperation by his ridiculous wife and difficult daughters ... He is closest to Elizabeth because they are the two most intelligent Bennet.
