Movies on his works have collected over one billion dollars at the box office. Hamlet is his most adapted play followed by Romeo and Juliet and then by Macbeth.

    The first movie produced on Shakespeare's work is 'King John'. His works have been translated into almost all languages and adapted for movies. In Hindi we have Omkara, Haider, Maqbul, Angoor and there likes modeled after Othello, Hamlet, Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors.
