    Personally, I would go with the last one, "Change some of the sentences to compound and complex sentences." This is because then not all of the sentences are compound or complex. Some sentences do still stay simple, although that is not a bad thing. Not every sentence is compound, not every sentence is complex, and not every sentence is simple. It's a good balance.
