Compare the purpose and characteristics of satire in Pope's "The Rape of the Lock" and Swift's "A Modest Proposal". Which one do you consider more effective and why?

    The Rape of the Lock tells of an unrequited love but behind it is the issue about religion during the 1700's. A Modes Proposal is a blunt attempt to remind everyone of the problem of overpopulation and questionable morality of the people that comes with solving social problems.
