    Explanation:

    The conclusion of the parable: each man, to understand the elephant, did not consider the same things. Each could perceive only a part of the animal. The fact that men are blind - and at the same time certain of the truth - is perhaps their greatest symbolism.

    In a way, this parallel between the French philosopher and the Indian parable shows how hasty conclusions often generate wrong answers. Therefore, Descartes concludes:

    "It's not enough to have healthy mint, the main thing is to apply it well. The greatest souls are capable of the greatest mistakes as well as the greatest virtues, and those who walk very slowly can go much further, if they always follow the straight path, than those who hurry."
